Help Reduce Stubborn Fat Pockets with Male Liposuction
Sometimes, no amount of diet and exercise seems to target stubborn fat on the stomach, thighs, arms, or other areas the way you want them to. Fortunately, several cosmetic procedures can be performed to help reduce this unwanted fat and achieve your desired results. Male liposuction can be one of the more effective ways to reduce fat in certain areas that just doesn’t seem to go away. Dr. Franckle performs this fat removal procedure at his South Jersey clinic to help patients feel more confident about their bodies.
What You Can Expect from a Male Liposuction Surgery
Once your procedure has been scheduled, Dr. Franckle will provide specific instructions to help you prepare for the surgery. Liposuction will be performed on an outpatient basis, using either general or local anesthesia, so you will need someone to bring you home afterward. Depending on the type of liposuction performed, Dr. Franckle will use a sterile solution, sound waves, laser, or another method to break down fat cells within the targeted area—he’ll walk you through all of this before surgery. He will then remove the broken-down fat cells through a thin tube, called a cannula, which will be inserted into the area through a small incision, causing minimal scarring, if any.
Dr. Franckle provides his patients with instructions for recovery based on their specific situations. Most male patients experience bruising, swelling, and soreness for a few weeks after liposuction. You may need to take antibiotics to prevent infection and wear a compression garment to control swelling following the procedure. In most cases, you will be able to return to work within a few days and normal activities within a few weeks. While male liposuction should permanently remove these fat cells, you’ll need to maintain a stable weight to prevent the formation of new fat cells—you can’t replace exercise and a proper diet with this surgery.
Cost
If you decide to undergo male liposuction, our office staff will address all your questions regarding cost and payment. The cost of liposuction will depend on the size of the area being treated and the amount of fat removed by the surgeon.
Generally speaking, the cost of liposuction can range from $3,700* and up.
*Please note that the Virtua Center for Surgery, where your procedure will take place, bills their anesthesia and facility fees separately. The prices listed above may or may not include these fees.

Is Male Liposuction Right for You?
Similar to liposuction procedures on women, not everyone will qualify as a candidate for male liposuction. The ideal male candidate is in generally good health and doesn’t smoke. Because liposuction is not a weight-loss alternative, the ideal candidate should be at a stable weight with only a few specific problems areas they wish to address via surgery. They should already have achieved the bulk of their desired weight loss and are continuing to maintain a steady diet and exercise routine. Dr. Franckle will consider these factors during your initial consultation to help you determine if liposuction is right for you.
Combining Male Liposuction with Other Procedures
Liposuction can be performed on its own or, depending on the patient, in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures. Combining procedures can help patients minimize downtime while maximizing aesthetic results. Many patients who have lost a significant amount of weight choose to undergo a tummy tuck in addition to liposuction. First, Dr. Franckle will perform liposuction to reduce those leftover fat deposits that have resisted other attempts at weight loss. Then he will remove any excess or loose skin resulting from drastic weight loss before redraping it over the newly contoured area. Depending on your aesthetic goals, Dr. Franckle may be able to perform these procedures and others in conjunction with liposuction to help you achieve your desired appearance.
FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
While both liposuction and CoolSculpting are outpatient procedures used to address stubborn fat, their methods are very different. CoolSculpting freezes fat cells, which causes them to die and be eliminated by the body’s natural process of shedding them. It can take several treatments for results to show, and each session is around an hour long. Because there are no incisions, there is also no downtime with CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting can also be known as cryolipolysis.
All liposuction techniques involve suctioning fat out of the target area; they just use different means to achieve that goal. The tumescent technique involves injecting an anesthetic solution into the fatty tissue before removing it, reducing overall pain and eliminating the need for a general anesthetic. Ultrasound liposuction, which can also be referred to as VASER, uses ultrasonic waves to liquefy the fat before the doctor suctions it out; laser lipo and Smart Lipo also work in a very similar way.
Abdominal lipo and tummy tuck are sometimes incorrectly used interchangeably, but they refer to two very different procedures. Lipo removes fat cells from an area, while a tummy tuck removes loose or excess skin, often after weight loss has already occurred. Sometimes, these two procedures can be performed simultaneously for a greater body contouring effect and to achieve optimized results.
